CNN reports from Tokyo, Japan. A 43-year-old Japanese woman has been arrested on suspicion of hacking, when she killed her online husband's digital persona after he suddenly divorced her in the online environment of a popular interactive game "
Maple Story". The virtual reality divorce made the woman so angry that she decided to kill her online ex-husband. CNN further reports:
The woman had not plotted any revenge in the real world. She has not been formally charged, but if convicted could face a prison term of up to five years or a fine up to $5,000.
